Lens, our city

Lens is a french city in the north of France, in the Pas-De-Calais department. In Lens there are about thirty-seven thousand inhabitants (thirty-six thousand eight hundred and twenty-three exactly).

The « terrils »

The Racing Club of Lens

This city is especially famous for its « terrils » (the terrils are big piles of charbon), its football team, the Racing Club of Lens and for its Louvre. The Louvre is a museum, like the one of Paris( but it isn't built yet).

During the second world war, Lens has been pratically entirelly destroyed.
